INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
3 tbsp butter, melted
1 egg
3 1/2 - 4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
DIRECTIONS
In a small bowl, combine milk, water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Next add melted butter, egg, flour, and salt. Mix until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add more flour, a tablespoon at a time.
Knead the dough by hand for 8-10 minutes (or with a dough hook attachment for 5 minutes) until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place on a greased baking sheet or in a greased 9x13 pan.
Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise again for about 45 minutes, until puffy.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the top with melted butter or egg wash. Bake the rolls for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
